About

Your Photo

I’m Ryan Luna, a software engineer and researcher with a passion for embedded systems, robotics, and hardware security. During my undergrad, as co-captain and payload lead for UTRGV’s Rocket Launchers, I worked on avionics, sensors, and Arduino systems for high-powered rockets. This hands-on experience with embedded systems fueled my interest in the field, ultimately shaping my academic and research focus.

During my graduate studies, I initially focused on hardware security, where I explored RTOS and RISC-V using the ChipWhisperer toolchain. Later, I pivoted to swarm robotics, centering my research on swarm security, algorithm development, and vulnerability mitigation through the ARGoS platform. Over the course of my graduate career, I published five research papers, primarily on swarm intelligence and security.

I thrive on solving complex problems through innovation and collaboration, with a strong focus on embedded systems and software development. I’m always seeking opportunities to expand my skills, contribute to open-source projects, and tackle meaningful challenges.
